We went to Julian expecting snow. As a Southern Californian, if I don’t go out in search of snow during winter, I will definitely not find it.
The news claimed there had been at least 4 inches of snow earlier that week, but when we got there, there wasn’t a single trace. so Instead, we stopped at the ever so famous Julian Pie Shop. I got a warm slice of berry pie, and grabbed a whole apple dutch to go.
There were only small mom and pop shops, so much so that most shops were only open 9 to 5, and some were only open near weekends (which was unfortunate for us since we went on a Monday).
We later stopped at Miner’s Diner for dinner. It had a really cute 50’s theme, like a stop right off of route 66. There was a cute little choo choo train that circled around the Diner as well.
While we were there, we also took a trip down to William Heise County Park which offered quiet hiking trails and camping.
