Cody and I camped for the weekend at Palomar State Park. Here is the link to my brief ADVENTURE GUIDE, which includes the information and maps about the locations in this post and more. Feel free to contact or email me with any questions! I’d love to hear about your trip and if this helped.

The beginning of Doane Valley Trail looked like a mythical entrance, which leads to Weir Historic Site, an old stone watch tower. The tower was small, it reminded me of the tower in Tangled. The hike is not to strenuous, little kids and elderly can do it.
These photos are from the Silvercrest Picnic Area. The drastically changing and colored plants are beautiful during Autumn.
This is Boucher Lookout, a fire watch tower. They allow you to go in if a volunteer is inside. It offers a beautiful view of the valley. There is also a sitting area with free binoculars to enjoy the view. It is a bit of a hike from Silvercrest but there is parking, so you can also drive up to it.
