The secret swings located in La Jolla (San Diego County) are constantly changing. They are usually put up by locals and taken down by the city. So there’s no telling when or how long they will be there. But don’t worry, they always come back, it’s all part of the magic of the secret swings.
The beauty of the swings is obviously the gorgeous ocean city line backdrop, but also the peace of the semi-secluded spot along with the sense of community. People leave more than just the swings, they leave books, notes, instruments, and more for others to enjoy while at the location.
Getting there can be a little tricky but not too difficult.
From North Torrey Pines, turn LEFT onto La Jolla Shores Drive and pass Birch Aqurium.
When you see UCSD Coastal Apartments, begin looking for parking.
At the end of the complex find Discover Way and CROSS the street.
There is a small trail between three poles.
Search the area for swings! Remember, they are always changing but will be on that trail, usually not too far in.
