Capilano Suspension Bridge Park was my favorite experience in Canada. It is filled with a variety of ways to experience the Canadaian Rainforest. Cross over the river and through the forest hundreds of feet in the air on a thrilling Capilano Suspension Bridge. Take the Cliffwalk and get right in the middle of the forest and lagoon on narrow steel beams. Enjoy Treetop Adventures and various trails to observe the trees from below.
Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is $39.95 CAD for students, and $53.95 CAD for adults. It was our most expensive single attraction ticket but well worth it. We spent around 4 to 5 hours here.
The Capilano Suspension Bridge is as high at it looks and it does rock. It is definitely an adrenaline rush if you are scared of heights. There is quite a bit of traffic along the bridge, or at least there was when I went, on a Monday. I learned that the most traffic is at the entrance and exit. You can totally enjoy it right in the middle with less people around. The view from the bridge is absolutely astounding in every direction. It is beautiful and serene. Canada had so much natural beauty to enjoy.
Cliffwalk
I actually enjoyed the Cliffwalk more than the Capilano Suspension Bridge. I went on it twice and each time was just as thrilling and breathtaking. You are on an extremely narrow path supported from steel beams coming from the rock.
It takes you straight into the forest with sights of small waterfalls pouring into the lagoon as well. It was a unique view point because you’re not above or below the trees, you are right in the middle of them.
Treetop Adventures and Trails
Treetop Adventures is a lower, wider, version of Cliffwalk and Capilano Suspension Bridge combined. I’d say it is the kid and handicap friendlier version. It is essentially mini suspension bridges that take you through the trees. Because it is easier to access it is busier than most. I personally wish I could have had more time to go through it without the lines or the feeling of being rushed by the people behind me. However, it was still beautiful and enjoyable.
Trails
There are a variety of trails on the ground as well where you can enjoy looking up at the trees from the ground and observe the animals and birds that live in the rainforest.
I was particularly awestruck by the moss. That might sound weird, but the moss growing on trees was really beautiful to me and something I have not really ever seen in forests in California. It was such a vibrant and rich green and it was abundant.
There are two places to eat here. One fast food, where we ate, and an indoor restaurant that is more expensive.
Capilano Suspension Bridge Park was such a neat experience with nature and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Vancouver and would like to go again.
Travel FAQ
Stay:
We stayed at an Airbnb to cut costs. Vancouver Airbnbs fill up a lot quicker than Victoria’s and it is rare to find one without a shared bathroom! I would recommend booking over a month before your trip.

Flight: AirCanada.
Bus: The bus system is a little weirder. You have to get a new compass card every day from London Drug store, or at the airport or ferry it is slightly inconvenient. This loads a day pass for $10 and can take you just about anywhere in Vancouver. I wasted money on buying an online reloadable one but you have to have a Canadian address to reload it. Since it is more populated bus rides take longer than in Victoria. Another option we considered was Zipcar, there are convenient Zipcar locations there. Uber and Lyft is not yet available in BC.
Ferry: To get from Vancouver to Victoria, and vice versa, we took a Ferry which is $17/person.
If you are completely running on public transportation you will also have to take a few busses with separate bus tickets for the Victoria system and the Vancouver system.
What a beautiful adventure.
